The Elijah Chalice program, in case you were wondering what they were doing with that Chalice after Mass:
Elijah Chalice Program:
The purpose of the Elijah Chalice Program is to encourage Parishioners to pray and
promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. The consecrated Chalice is a tangible
reminder of this special intention for the Church.
How does it work: Each week at the 9am Mass, the assigned parishioner/family who has had the chalice returns it with the gifts taken up at the Offertory Procession. At the end of Mass, the next assigned parishioner/family is called by the priest to come forward to receive the chalice in a wooden chest and a blessing. They should also pick up the guidebook which contains a poster of the seminarians to hang up, a series of prayer suggestions, and stationery to send notes of encouragement to the Seminarians, Priests
and Religious. The parishioner/family takes the chalice home and puts it in a place of honor. They then return it the next week at the 9 am mass at the Offertory Procession.
All parishioners are welcomed to participate and can sign up at the Knights of Columbus Council 9597 website by going to
and click on the Elijah Chalice link to access the sign up. The Chalice is sponsored by the Knights but is open to all parishioners. If you do not have access to a computer or prefer to just have your name added to the list contact any Knight for assistance.

Finally, it is the month dedicated to Holy Name of Jesus. Name above names that the Catechism says is the only name that contains the presence it signifies! In other words, the Name of Jesus works similar to a sacrament! He is there as the Name is said, so consider invoking His holy Name throughout the day and bask in the presence of Our Savior!! Here is a calendar for saints of January:
Thanks for taking time out to update yourself with our parish/school life and be sure that I will find something more to add as soon as I send this!! In the meantime, please pray for your pastor and parochial vicar, the deacons, and all who labor for the welfare of your souls here at the parish! We thank you for your support in 2019 and wish everyone a blessed 2020!!
