Well, because I haven't mastered the art of video editing, there are a couple awkward moments!! But, we move on despite all imperfections! Below my video is a moving version of the 'Avinu Malkeinu' which is a litany said during the high holy days in the period of Yom Kippur in their liturgy. It is dated from the 1st century written by Rabbi Akiba, founder of rabbinic judaism. It is a good example of rhythmic repetition in prayer and how the Hebrew language is poetic and lends itself to repetition. The young Orthodox Jewish man who sings it makes me think of how St John might have looked!!
